beneath the surface

Beneath the Surface emerged from a personal journey through anxiety and depression, heightened by the events of 2020 and the onset of perimenopause. Inspired by a moment while swimming with my son, I sought to capture the feeling of being surrounded by darkness with beauty just out of reach. The series, created through experimentation and persistence, focuses on flowers seen through water. Alongside the prints, fabric installations were made to transmute the weight of despair into something lighter. These images, while born from struggle, became symbols of resilience and hope.
